Company History

Arthur Heath trading in paper from the Scandinavian countries established the company in 1913. In the early 20’s from the links with Scandinavia the company moved into wooden products and gradually dropped any interest in paper.  The main products were Birch Turnery, dowels and handles, Beech squares, brush blanks and furniture parts many of which are still available to this day.

To this range, were added dowels and DIY Mouldings in Ramin and Meranti from Malaysia/Indonesia along with components for the furniture industry, which continue to be an important part of the business today.

The Company moved to Aylesford in Kent in the mid 1960’s and having acquired the site in the late 80’s has invested in storage and workshop facilities to meet the demands of the UK trade.   From our workshop we are able to offer added value machining services to the standard range of doweling and turnery held in stock.

Recent times has seen our expansion into sourcing from China with new products for the Craft and Education markets along with an increasing range from Scandinavia, and Europe

Today Arthur Heath & Co Ltd. is a leading source of supply for much of the timber products in the Primary education, Craft/Hobby, DIY market, and Toy Manufacturing.  We aim to maintain, and extend this position and the Internet is just one way this will be achieved.
